Non-spoilery HBP spoiler outrage

For the past days, I have been religiously avoiding any discussion where there was the slightest chance of Harry Potter spoilers. I haver been infinuitely grateful to the people on my and anyone else's flists for being so careful about putting any spoilers behind cut tags, and I steadfastly refused to beg people for information, because I wanted so much to be able to read the German version of the book, coming out on October the first, unspoilered. And now my inconsiderate idiot of an English teacher just blurted out who it is that dies in HBP! I didn’t want to know that, dammit! I really, really wish there was a way to go back and unlearn this. At least I wasn't alone in my outraged cries of "Are you fucking crazy? We haven't read that book yet! You can't just tell us things like that!" All my fellow HP fans in the group were just as pissed at me about the unwanted information.


I can’t believe she fucking killed Dumbledore. I thought Lupin, I thought Snape, I considered Neville - but the one person I was sure would survive till at least the very last book was Dumbledore. I really didn’t want to know that!
